I've read lots of books on writing software requirements, and this one is the best. Mr. Wiegers writes in a simple, easy to follow style, explaining concepts clearly and concisely. He's just released the 2nd edition of this "classic." If you only have time for one book on requirements, this is the one.

Web Development Process
Jeremy Wright provides a nice overview of the web development process. He also provides examples of the core deliverables, a first as far as we know. Of course, we'll help you develop much better specification documents, but these samples aren't bad considering they're free.
